How to Use the Online Pickleball Scoreboard
- Choose Traditional Singles, Traditional Doubles, a 2026 Rally option, or Custom scoring.
- Enter the two player or team labels and first serving side.
- Record which side wins each rally. The selected scoring format determines whether that rally adds a point.
- Read current points, Games won, serve, and the applicable score call or service court.
- Use Undo or Redo to correct a scoring or service mistake.
- Open the read-only scoreboard in Fullscreen when supported.
Pickleball Scoreboard Features
Keep points, Games, the serving side, and the Match result for Singles or team-labelled Doubles. Traditional Doubles includes the 0–0–2 opening, server number, and three-number score call; Singles and 2026 Rally Scoring use two-number calls. You can also choose Custom 11-, 15-, or 21-point scoring, correct mistakes with Undo or Redo, restore a locally saved Match, and use a read-only Fullscreen display.
Traditional Side-Out Scoring
In Traditional scoring, only the serving player or team can score a point. If the receiving side wins a rally, it does not score; service changes through the Singles or Doubles sequence. The Traditional presets use Games to 11 with a two-point winning margin.
How to Read a Pickleball Score: 0–0–2
A Traditional Doubles score call has three numbers: serving-team score, receiving-team score, then server number. For example, 5–3–2 means the serving team has 5 points, the receiving team has 3, and the current serving team is on server 2. Every Traditional Doubles Game starts 0–0–2 because the starting team receives only one service turn before the first side out.

Server Number and Side Out in Doubles
After the opening 0–0–2 service turn, a team normally starts its service sequence on server 1. If server 1 loses a rally, the same team moves to server 2. If server 2 loses, a side out moves serve to the opponent at server 1. ScoreMetrik tracks the team-level serving side and server number, not four named players or exact player positions.
2026 Rally Scoring Option
USA Pickleball's provisional 2026 Rally Scoring option awards one point to the side that wins every rally, including a receiving side at Game or Match point. The rally winner serves next. Rally Singles and Rally Doubles use a two-number score call and do not use Traditional Doubles server 1 or server 2. Rally Scoring is an option; it has not replaced Traditional Side-Out scoring.
Singles Scoring and Service Court
Traditional Singles uses a two-number call: serving-player score, then receiving-player score, with no server number. The serving player uses the right service court when their score is zero or even and the left court when it is odd. Rally Singles also uses a two-number call. The service correction control can fix the serving side without awarding a rally.
Games and Match Formats
The four fixed Traditional and Rally presets use best-of-three Games to 11, win by two. A Game completes only at its target with a two-point lead. ScoreMetrik records the completed score, advances the Match, and alternates the initial serving side for the next Game. The deciding Game records the Match winner.
Custom Pickleball Scoring
Custom scoring supports Singles or team-labelled Doubles, Side-Out or Rally Scoring, best of one, three, or five Games, and Games to 11, 15, or 21 with a two-point margin. These are ScoreMetrik product configurations, not a claim that every combination is a sanctioned USA Pickleball tournament format.
Use It for Local Pickleball Matches
Use the scoreboard for recreational games, club play, school or community matches, practice, casual Singles, team-labelled Doubles, or a local event when the selected scoring format matches its rules. The scorekeeper operates the Match on this device.
Fullscreen Display
Open the read-only scoreboard in Fullscreen when the browser supports it. Setup, scoring controls, service correction, Undo, Redo, and Match actions stay outside the Fullscreen element on the current device, including a connected monitor, TV, or projector.
Undo, Local Saving and Recovery
Undo and Redo correct scoring and service-entry mistakes. When browser storage is available, the current Match saves in this browser and can be restored after a reload. Clearing site data, changing browsers, or moving to another device can make that saved Match unavailable; it does not sync between devices.
Pickleball Scoreboard vs Referee or Official Score Sheet
ScoreMetrik records points, Games, the serving side, the selected scoring format, Traditional Doubles server number, completed Game scores, and the Match result. It does not replace a referee or an official score sheet, decide faults, or create a detailed officiating log.
What This Scoreboard Does Not Do
This user-operated scoreboard does not fetch professional live Pickleball scores or results, publish rankings, schedule tournaments, track four named Doubles players or their court positions, detect faults, judge non-volley-zone or two-bounce violations, make line calls, or validate serve legality or equipment. It has no game clock, cloud sync, public viewer link, remote controller, or OBS output. ScoreMetrik is independent and is not affiliated with, approved by, or endorsed by USA Pickleball.

How do you read a Pickleball score?
Traditional Singles uses serving score then receiving score. Traditional Doubles adds server number as the third value, such as 5–3–2.
Why does Traditional Doubles begin 0–0–2?
The starting side receives only one serve opportunity in its first rotation of each Game, so the starting server is called server 2. A loss causes an immediate side out.
What is a side out?
A side out moves serve to the opponent. In Traditional Singles, it follows the server losing a rally. In Traditional Doubles, it follows server 2 losing, except for the opening 0–0–2 turn, which sides out immediately when lost.
What is the difference between Side-Out and Rally Scoring?
Traditional Side-Out awards points only to the serving side. Under the provisional 2026 Rally option, every rally winner scores and serves next.
Does 2026 Rally Scoring use server 1 and server 2?
No. Rally Singles and Rally Doubles use a two-number score call, without the Traditional Doubles server-number value.
Where is the Match saved?
It is saved only in this browser when browser storage is available. Clearing site data or moving to another device does not recover or synchronize it.
Can I use it on a phone or tablet?
Yes. The controls and display adapt to supported phone, tablet, laptop, and desktop browsers. The Match remains local to this browser; it does not create a share link or remote viewer.
